Complete guide: how to switch between cut and loop mode on your AK-V tufting gun

Switching Modes on AK‑V Kreoho

How to switch from Cut mode to Loop mode with your AK-V tufting gun

If you use the AK-V tufting machine, knowing how to switch from Cut mode to Loop mode is essential for achieving professional results. In this article, created by Kreoho, we show you step by step how to do it in just a few seconds.

Step-by-step guide: from Cut to Loop

  1. Turn off and unplug the machine.
  2. You don't need to remove the scissors.
  3. Use an Allen key to slightly loosen the screw (without removing it).
  4. Slide the screw forward.
  5. Tighten again — you're now in LOOP mode.

Important: what changes in Loop mode

In Loop mode, the yarn is not cut automatically. You'll need to cut it manually after each row. This is different from Cut mode, which activates the internal blade for automatic cutting.

How to return to Cut mode

  1. Loosen the screw again with the Allen key.
  2. Slide it exactly to the centernot all the way back.
  3. Tighten the screw — Cut mode is active again.

The screw must be centered to reactivate the blade and allow automatic yarn cutting.

Now you know exactly how to switch from Cut mode to Loop (and vice versa) on your AK-V tufting machine. This allows you to work precisely and adapt the technique to your projects: rugs, tapestries, wall decorations and much more.
