When shaving and carving, it is recommended to work gradually, using light and controlled passes. Removing too much yarn in a single pass may affect the evenness of the surface or irreversibly alter certain areas of the project.

Regularly clean the blade area by removing fibers, dust and yarn residue, and keep the cutting parts properly lubricated to maintain the trimmer's performance over time.

Before carrying out any cleaning, maintenance, lubrication or blade adjustment, always disconnect the device from the power supply.

The Tufting Trimmer is a tool equipped with moving blades. Use it only for its intended applications and keep hands, fingers and other objects away from the cutting area during operation.

What is a Tufting Trimmer used for?

It is used to shear and even out the pile, finish the surface, and carry out carving work. It also allows you to create reliefs, volumes, and 3D effects on the tufted surface.

What is the difference between shearing and carving?

Shearing is mainly used to even out the height of the pile. Carving, on the other hand, allows you to sculpt the yarn to define outlines, separations, levels, and details of the project.

Is the Rosewood Tufting Trimmer suitable for beginners too?

Yes. It is advisable to start with light, gradual passes, removing a small amount of material at a time. With practice, you will be able to achieve increasingly precise and complex work.

When should I use the trimmer while making a rug?

For beginners and intermediate users, we recommend finishing after applying glue to the back of the project. This way, the yarn is better anchored to the fabric, reducing the risk of tufts coming loose during the process.

At a more advanced level, the trimmer can also be used directly on the project while it is still mounted on the frame, before applying glue. This technique is used, for example, to finish a single color before proceeding with tufting the next color.

What is the adjustable speed for?

It allows you to adapt the trimmer's operation to the work and the desired level of control. When starting out, and for more precise work, it is advisable to use lower speeds and gradually increase them with experience.

Do I need to use a trimmer guide?

It is not mandatory. A guide helps maintain a consistent distance from the surface and is especially useful for achieving an even shear.

For carving, outlines, and 3D effects, the trimmer is generally used without a guide to allow greater freedom of movement.

Can I use the trimmer with any type of yarn?

It can be used with various tufting yarns, but the result varies depending on the composition, thickness, and density of the pile. It is advisable to test on a small area first.

How can I avoid cutting the pile too short?

Proceed with light, gradual passes without applying excessive pressure. You can always make another pass, but yarn that has already been removed cannot be restored.

How do you clean the Rosewood Tufting Trimmer?

After use, unplug the trimmer from the power supply and remove fibers and yarn residue from the blade area using the included brush.

Do the blades need to be lubricated?

Yes. Periodic lubrication reduces friction and helps keep the cutting system running efficiently. Always carry out maintenance with the device unplugged from the power supply.

When should I replace the blades?

When the cut becomes less effective or even despite proper cleaning and lubrication, or when the blades show clear signs of wear or damage.
