The shade Mustard Seed is a warm, soft and slightly muted ochre tone characterised by a natural and contemporary visual appearance. While maintaining a yellow base, the colour recalls mustard, earthy tones and textured vintage palettes, appearing less saturated than a classic bright yellow. Thanks to its 8 PLY structure and compact yarn construction, Tufting Pure Acrylic Kreoho® provides uniform coverage and good volumetric performance even when using a single strand.

When used with a tufting machine, the use of a single strand is recommended, as the yarn is optimised to ensure good coverage and smooth flow already with a single pass.

Using a single strand also helps to optimise material consumption, reducing yarn waste and allowing greater continuity during the working process.

The yarn is compatible with all Kreoho® tufting machines. Our machines are calibrated for single-strand yarn use, ensuring uniform performance, stitch definition and reduced stress on the needle and internal mechanics.

For double-strand use, it is necessary to check the width of the tufting machine needle hole to ensure smooth yarn flow and avoid jamming.

How many strands of Pure Acrylic should I use with a tufting machine?

For tufting, we recommend using a single strand. The 8 PLY structure of Pure Acrylic provides good coverage with just one strand, while ensuring smooth feeding through the tufting machine needle and reducing material consumption. It is also possible to use two strands at the same time, but in this case it is important to make sure that both strands move freely through the needle hole without creating friction or resistance while tufting.

How much Pure Acrylic yarn do I need for a tufting project?

As a reference, a 10 × 10 cm area with a pile height of approximately 10–15 mm requires an average of around 13 g of yarn. Actual consumption may vary depending on line density, pile height and the technique used. A 400 g cone can therefore cover approximately 0.3 m² of tufted surface.

When should I choose acrylic yarn instead of wool?

Acrylic yarn is particularly suitable when you want to achieve brighter, more vibrant and pop colours. Compared with wool, it also allows for very broad colour ranges and intense shades, making it suitable for decorative projects, textile illustrations and Fiber Art pieces where colour is a central element of the design.

Is Pure Acrylic suitable for wall art and hanging pieces?

Yes. Acrylic is particularly suitable for creating wall art and Fiber Art pieces designed to be hung on walls. For the same project, acrylic yarn weighs less than wool, making the finished piece lighter overall and easier to hang. The wide range of vibrant colours also makes it particularly suitable for graphic and decorative compositions.

Can there be colour differences between different production batches?

There may be slight variations in shade between different production batches, but with acrylic these differences are often barely noticeable compared with those that can occur with wool yarns. For large projects or uniform areas, we nevertheless recommend purchasing the required quantity of the same colour from the outset.
